Av dem har runt 1000 ett hj\u00e4rtfel n\u00e4r de f\u00f6ds, vilket g\u00f6r hj\u00e4rtfel till den vanligaste gruppen av fosterskador. Vissa av dem l\u00e4ker naturligt medan andra beh\u00f6ver avancerad kirurgi. I Sverige finns det i dag totalt \u00e5tta verksamma barnhj\u00e4rtkirurger. Fyra i G\u00f6teborg och fyra i Lund.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 F\u00f6r att utf\u00f6ra det vi barnhj\u00e4rtkirurger g\u00f6r varje dag kr\u00e4vs det att vi opererar ofta. Det \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 ett lagarbete, d\u00e4r vi d\u00e4r vi jobbar n\u00e4ra tillsammans med hj\u00e4rtkirurgerna fr\u00e5n vuxensidan, r\u00f6ntgendoktorer, kardiologer, narkos-och intensivv\u00e5rdsl\u00e4kare och inte minst tillsammans med ingenj\u00f6rer som utvecklar nya metoder f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa oss f\u00f6rst\u00e5 hj\u00e4rtfelen, ber\u00e4ttar Kiet Tran, som \u00e4r barnkirurg och sektionschef vid den barnhj\u00e4rtkirurgiska enheten i Lund.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Till exempel kan vi g\u00f6ra 3D-utskrift av hj\u00e4rtat. Det g\u00f6r att vi \u00e4r mycket b\u00e4ttre f\u00f6rberedda p\u00e5 vad vi kommer att hitta under operationen. Han v\u00e4xte upp i s\u00f6rml\u00e4ndska Katrineholm, f\u00f6r att sedan g\u00e5 gymnasiet i Norrk\u00f6ping och l\u00e4karutbildningen i Stockholm.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Jag har \u00e4gnat m\u00e5nga \u00e5r \u00e5t att operera och l\u00e4ra mig det h\u00e4r yrket. Det \u00e4r l\u00e4tt att tro att jag tycker att kirurgin \u00e4r det roligaste med min dag, men s\u00e5 \u00e4r det inte. Det b\u00e4sta med min dag det \u00e4r n\u00e4r operationen \u00e4r klar och jag f\u00e5r g\u00e5 till telefonen och ringa f\u00f6r\u00e4ldrarna och h\u00f6ra hur de blir l\u00e4ttade och glada, s\u00e4ger han och l\u00e4gger till:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Det jobbigaste \u00e4r naturligtvis n\u00e4r vi trots all f\u00f6rberedelse \u00e4nd\u00e5 misslyckas. F\u00f6r det finns fall som \u00e4r s\u00e5 sv\u00e5ra att vi s\u00e4ger att vi ger det en chans och vi g\u00f6r s\u00e5 gott vi kan. Vi ger oss inte p\u00e5 hoppl\u00f6sa fall, s\u00e5 n\u00e5gonstans n\u00e4r vi g\u00f6r det finns det en f\u00f6rhoppning att vi faktiskt lyckas. Att barn d\u00f6r i samband med hj\u00e4rtkirurgi \u00e4r i dag v\u00e4ldigt ovanligt. Kiet Tran ber\u00e4ttar att han sj\u00e4lv inte varit med om att ett barn g\u00e5tt bort i samband med operation under hans tretton \u00e5r som barnhj\u00e4rtkirurg.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Tittar man p\u00e5 utvecklingskurvan idag \u00e4r d\u00f6dligheten s\u00e5 l\u00e5g att det inte finns mycket mer att h\u00e4mta d\u00e4r. Nu \u00e4r v\u00e5rt m\u00e5l att se till att barnen m\u00e5r bra och kan utvecklas, g\u00e5 i skolan och g\u00f6ra s\u00e5 mycket som m\u00f6jligt som alla andra barn kan. F\u00f6r att n\u00e5 de m\u00e5len kr\u00e4vs det forskning och innovation.
