I ett scensamtal med Hj\u00e4rt-Lungfondens generalsekreterare Kristina Sparreljung ber\u00e4ttade G\u00f6ran Bergstr\u00f6m, professor och \u00f6verl\u00e4kare vid Sahlgrenska universitetssjukhuset i G\u00f6teborg, att forskningen de senaste 20-30 \u00e5ren lett till att det blivit en ordentlig nedg\u00e5ng i antalet insjuknande i hj\u00e4rt-k\u00e4rlsjukdomar. Dock har man p\u00e5 senare tid sett att kurvan planat ut och att antalet till och med \u00f6kat lite f\u00f6r vissa sjukdomar och \u00e5ldersgrupper.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Att kurvan v\u00e4nder igen tror vi beror p\u00e5 nya riskfaktorm\u00f6nster, som bland annat stillasittande, \u00f6vervikt och diabetes, s\u00e4ger G\u00f6ran Bergstr\u00f6m.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 D\u00e5 \u00e4r det v\u00e4ldigt passande att vi satsar p\u00e5 SCAPIS, som \u00e4r ett j\u00e4ttestort projekt med inriktning just mot den typen av riskfaktorer och som ska l\u00e4ra oss mer om dem. I studien, som \u00e4r ett svenskt initiativ, har sex universitet och universitetssjukhus g\u00e5tt samman och unders\u00f6kt 30 000 inv\u00e5nare med m\u00e5let att p\u00e5 sikt kunna f\u00f6rutse och f\u00f6rhindra hj\u00e4rt- och lungsjukdom<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Vi kanske kan l\u00e4ra oss viktiga signalv\u00e4gar s\u00e5 att vi kan ta fram nya mediciner.
