Folk umg\u00e5s p\u00e5 barer och trivs p\u00e5 restauranger. N\u00e4r jag kom hit 2006 hade hotellen just b\u00f6rjat renoveras och idag finns en stor koncentration av h\u00f6gre kvalitetshotell, m\u00e5nga femstj\u00e4rniga. Sedan \u00e4r naturupplevelsen p\u00e5 Teneriffa n\u00e5got helt unikt. Det g\u00e5r inte att missa h\u00f6jderna och vandringarna runt Teide. De mest extrema vandra upp \u00e4nda till toppen. Annars tar man linbanan och g\u00e5r de 200 sista meterna. Det \u00e4r n\u00e5got helt speciellt att st\u00e5 p\u00e5 Spaniens h\u00f6gsta berg, och en av de h\u00f6gre vulkanerna i v\u00e4rlden, och titta ut \u00f6ver landskapet. En annan upplevelse av naturlivet \u00e4r f\u00f6rst\u00e5s havet. Tv\u00e4rtom, h\u00e4r m\u00f6ts man av nyrenoverade hotell, fin gastronomi, trevliga cocktailbarer, allt med en lite l\u00e4gre prisniv\u00e5 \u00e4n p\u00e5 s\u00f6dra sidan. I h\u00e4rliga Puerto de la Cruz bor de flesta kanarier, men tycks trivas med turisterna. Utanf\u00f6r staden, i n\u00e5got som egentligen inte \u00e4r mer \u00e4n byh\u00e5lor, b\u00f6r man inte missa alla Guachinces \u2013 sm\u00e5 lokala vinmakare och krogar som ligger likt ett p\u00e4rlband l\u00e4ngs nordkusten. De serverar sjukt god hemlagad mat: grillat k\u00f6tt, papas arrugadas och den typiska r\u00f6da s\u00e5sen mojo rojo. H\u00e4r finns plats f\u00f6r inspirerande vandring och sp\u00e4nnande cykelrutter, men ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6r m\u00e5nga l\u00e5nga stunder av lugn och ro att hinna l\u00e4sa den d\u00e4r o\u00f6ppnade boken.
